They completely nerfed the sandbox. I understand nukes were annoying, but they also nerfed structure damage, gas damage…. Nowadays fps games are afraid of streamers, and every game turns into a tracking hell

The point of the final round being less fun than the qualifying rounds is a good one. If they are really going to improve cash-out, that is a good place to start.

Recent teaser for S4 indicates they'll get rid of Ranked TA, which is good. I get why TA was made but making it ranked is just too much, especially when you can't play it in quick play. You can't get practice with the mode before you're doing ranked stuff.

In my opinion the finals is another case where concern for “balancing” and “competitive authenticity” gets in the way of making unique fun game concept. I remember the first time I played terminal attack I was so bored and frustrated. These guys had an original game concept and are trying to pitching valorant to us all over again. I miss the days when games will launch and weapons are not nerfed or buffed. I think that’s part of the reason why people love COD MW2 so much. Every weapon was good and no matter how much you feel something is OP it won’t be changed. Game devs got to stop having such grand ideas of what their games should be and make them for what their player base came to the game in the first place for.

i will address the elephant in the room. they went into pr overdrive because they knew s3 ta would be cancerous, as you stated. why would they inentionally do something they know we will hate? why did communication stop so abruptly? there can only be one answer. they were forced. every game is being made to crash and burn. every show you liked, every movie, even your fav songs will be remade to be hot, fuming garbage. you know this to be true. you have witnessed it, even if you have not acknowledged it.

I think if they change EVERYTHING back to what it was in season 1 but take away the stun gun. I’d come back but to many nerfs. It’s the watered down version of the finals I loved Edited: even if they keep the stun gun, I’d still come back. Just change EVERYTHING back

Literally, I got 75 wins in the first two weeks and was emerald 1 rank 28 and then they just made emerald easy. I played WT since I refuse to play TA this was my chance to have more “exclusive”/ harder rewards the average community can’t achieve.

Terminal Attack is great for getting new players not to drop the game after being third-partied in cashout 100 times in a row.

this season has been really hard for me as a heavy main the new ranked mode is just SO LIGHTCENTRIC then the casual mode is A GRIND to get the best skin. so im not playing. season 4, will be the last season i play unless the game improves.

I like the smaller tournaments as they take less time, but the old 48 was teeth gritting, bone shaking, nerve shattering commitments that felt good to win. Plus S1 tournament win music was peak. S3 music is just so flat

As a casual player in nearly every game I play, I don’t care about ranked systems. As long as there is one or more game mode in a game that has good and fun mechanics, I’m happy. So, I would just play cash out or power shift till the end of time, grinding the new seasons battle pass. Now I live in Australia, and I don’t have the best wifi or specs, but I was getting crazy consistent lag, getting worse as the seasons went on. It was there in season one (frames drops, ping spike, an occasional crash) but in season 2 it got way worse. I would only get into 2 out 3 of the games I queue into, because I would crash. Then, and here’s the big issue, I was crashing halfway or at the end of a match. And this SUCKED, it made grinding the battle pass impossible. Maybe I would be popping off, getting 35+ kills or progress my dailies a ton, and then I crash, lose all my progress, and I can’t even rejoin to help my team. But I managed to still complete the battle pass (not the weekly’s, steal 15 cashouts was so hard, but just when I was about to get it the weekly’s broke, still mad I couldn’t get the ak or the mask to this day). Then, season 3 rolled around. And this was the season I quit. Not because of the competitive issues or embark not listening. I though the lag couldn’t get worse, and of course I was wrong. I tried to queue into a total of 13 quick cash game modes, and I crashed into the loading screen of EVERY SINGLE ONE. I managed to get into 7 of 9 power shift gamemodes, but crashed before the end of 4 of them. The ones I was able to play I was averaging 7 frames per second (roughly) and I had a solid 200 ping. I couldn’t enjoy any of the new maps because the lag was simply that bad. And trust me, I tried everything. I restarted my router multiple times, I updated my drivers, I redownloaded the game twice, I contacted support, changed in game settings, changed computer settings, but at the end of the day none of that worked. In no other game had I ever experienced lag like this, so I pinned it down to the servers. Sorry for the yapping. The Finals is still one of my favourite games of all time, I think the nailed movement shooter as a genre, just a shame they let that slip.

I agree that cashout was way better with the final round being 3 teams, 2 team rounds of cashout SUCK. literally feels like playing a different gamemode

As a game dev I can answer your question about why they can’t add cashout ranked middle of season. 1st I’ll answer the question by asking you a question. Hypothetical. Let’s say you have yourself and your friend. You are given 126 days to complete a project. You’ve put in 60 straight days in and then out of nowhere someone gives your buddy the same project but only gives him half the days you got. So now your buddy has to put in even more time than you in order to catch up. By the 126th day you would have already been finished and your buddy is still trying to finish but didn’t meet the deadline. At the end of the 126th day you were given a reward that you really wanted if you completed and your buddy was offered the same reward but only in half the amount of time you had. Do you think that’s fair for your friend? You can’t just add something people need to grind for mid season. When has that ever happened and if it has how did the community react to that? Now you can say that embark does add stuff in mid season that you have to grind for but those are “Community Events” keyword “Community” meaning every single player that plays the game collective grinds for it. It’s not just you grinding for the rank. Us as a community grind for it. But let’s run with the idea that Embark commits another attempt at studio suicide and adds cashout ranked mid season. Would they lower the amount of ranks it takes to reach max rank? Would Ruby be a thing? What guns would they make skins for? Same guns as TA. Wait they can’t do that. So which guns? Will there be a leaderboard with Top 500 to keep track? Do they have to set that functionality up again? A lot of factors go into this. You talk about game developers like you are one but you don’t have the slightest clue what goes into gamedev. I’m not trying to be rude to you. I agree TA was an awful decision by embark. It was an act of them trying to capitalize on an over saturated game mode because they saw the success of PTB modes in different games. But don’t be ignorant and start thinking about what you’re saying when you make this stuff and start talking about gamedev. You don’t know how to console anything out so why talk about gamedev. Yiu don’t even know the language they made the game in.
